I knew what seasons are ofc but this took me by surprise. The Curious Case of Covingston Manor is a manor house mystery with all of the classic tropes and accoutrements: an old mansion with a vaguely aristocratic name, a wealthy (and possibly stingy) elder relative whose death sparks the entire story, a supporting cast of mixed family members and household servants who all have something to hide, a will that was possibly changed at the (literal!) eleventh hour, a dramatically-uncovered murder weapon, and a pair of detectives from the local law enforcement who are trying to sort the whole mess out. I just find it ackward to lock something behind pay wall on top of that behind grind and on top of that into specific mode. I can deal with it, try barbarian in S1, grind BP from ultimate edition and go back to my Eternal rogue to finish it and never buy BP again(or at least skip few seasons). Same way as CoD BP dont force you to play only WZ or only MP, OW BP dont force yout into ranked while it starts and ends with ranked season and skins from shop dont require specific objectives to do. Like seasonal exclusive sets, transmogs from seasonal events and objectives and stuff like that.īut not when it comes to paid version of battlepass. That is not, in any way, unreasonable.Īnd I fully agree with that when it comes to rewards earnable just by playing the game in season. Why am I discriminated in cosmetic progression just because I enjoy playing in different way and for different reasons and goals? Is giving me that 1-2 skins hurting anyone? How is it negativly affecting seasonal people exactly?Īnd if one chooses not to do certain content, then they should not expect to still receive the rewards specific to that content. I put in probably more time and effort than many seasons enjoyers do. I really like when my OP character also looks cool and shiny. What I dont understand is locking paid cosmetic portion of battlepass behind seasons. Seasons are great for levelling people, racing people, content people. Or if I am really heavily burnt out doing it I play different games, watch TV series and then when time is right I come back to that uber character project. I start again when I am in alt mood on my own terms (if I am burned out grinding that 5% boost on my main for last 200 hours for example). Done and finished.Īdding some new quests, uniques, seasonal mechanics is not apealing to me at all if it means to start that journey again. To me its absurd to start over untill something is completly finished. I used to play offline D2 and slowly work on something like that for years in the past. To me fun in ARPGs lies in building characters like that and it can take like 400-1000h per character based on luck. Perfect stat combo on every piece of gear where every line of those stats is also max proc - OK, maybe not all max, its unrealistic, but like for example +39/40% crit dmg, +48/50% vuln dmg, +14/15% all dmg etc, you get my point. Character who beats uber Lilith like it was some random demon on the street. Character as powerful as game allows on any given class. To me ARPGs were always about building godlike character. Just want to explain why as someone with lots of free time to play videogames and also ARPG fan I personaly dont like them and never did in any ARPG. I am not calling for their removal/cancelation at all.
